On July 5th I will be singing in the Palace Opera’s reduced version of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro along with a charity ‘Auction of Arias’. The event is in Cheddington (under canvas). On this occasion I will be marrying my daughter Emily – a twist even Da Ponte didn’t think of, whilst my partner Ione Chadwick endeavours, as Cherubino, to seduce Helen Miles as The Countess. Keep it in the family!! As I write I don’t have ticket details but watch this space.
- After studying at the Royal Academy of Music I undertook a variety of posts teaching singing before pursuing a full time performance career. I currently maintain a private teaching practice, with students ranging from teenagers to professional singers, and run a yearly summer school at my home in France. As a performer, I sang recitals and concerts in major London venues including The Queen Elizabeth Hall, The Purcell Room, St. John’s Smith Square, and The Royal Albert hall, as well as all over the world including Singapore, Hong Kong and the USA. Closer to home I took principal rôles with English and Welsh National Operas and companies throughout Europe.
